It’s been been a busy month at Kaplan Estates with many fun and festive activities. The Harvest Festival was beautiful this year, featuring colorful sukkahs, lively music by Tom Sheehan and delicious treats of apples, honey, and challah.

Clearly, our residents loved the “Horse Racing Day” as well as own recreation of the popular “Let’s Make a Deal” show. Surprises and prizes were found in every box.

Residents also enjoyed an end of summer ice cream social. The day focused on the opportunity to get everyone together and enjoy delicious ice cream treats. As expected, there were a lot of laughs and the making of ice cream sundaes was a huge hit!

Mandy Michael is facilitating art classes for our residents. It will be exciting to see the art projects that result from these classes.

And, last but not least, we have a new Friday night series, aptly entitled “Shabbat Schmooze.” Michele Tamaren invites residents of all religions to attend and participate in the discussions. Topics in include religious family celebrations and holiday traditions. Residents share different viewpoints and stories, which makes for very lively debates!
