What’s Happening at Leonard Florence Center in August!

August is chock full of both indoor and outdoor activities. Residents and staff look forward to our Wednesday restaurant trips. The visit to the Cheesecake Factory was followed by a Charles River boat tour. Hard to beat that one! But the upcoming trip to Floramos promises to be just as special. The popular Wakefield restaurant, best known for their BBQ ribs, is widely requested as a trip destination year after year.

Competition is heating up in both Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud. In fact, now there are new games on Thursdays so residents can enjoy playing their favorite game twice a week. It’s fun to watch, and even more fun to compete!

On August 26, Kelly N. will host a new “Strength and Flow Exercise Class.” Kelly will offer range of motion and breathing techniques designed for the residents in our specialty ALS and MS houses.

Our playbill summer outdoor concert series is still going strong. Residents are really enjoying themselves. On August 16, “Smokin’ Joe & the Henchmen” will perform a spirited medley of R&B songs. This band always gets rave reviews. On August 23, talented singer and songwriter Jody Ebling will be the featured entertainment.
