What’s Happening at Katzman Family Center for Living

May is always a busy time of year and this month is no exception. Our Mother’s Day celebration was festive and fun. All of our women residents received beautiful plants and personalized gifts in honor of the special day. The dining room was decorated with balloons and streamers. Best of all, the residents danced the day away. Ena Brito, one of our CNAs, dressed in colorful traditional Hondoras garb and danced with all of the residents. A wonderful time was had by all!

We also held celebrations in honor of National Nurses Week. Flowers, raffles, candy bags, snack cups and the  always popular dessert food truck helped us pay tribute to our exceptionally dedicated nursing staff. We are in awe of their courage and commitment.

Up on the dementia special care unit, the residents have been observing the life cycle of a butterfly. Our butterflies have emerged from their cocoons, and the residents released them to fly on their own. It was a heartfelt moment to observe the wonder of nature and see these beautiful butterflies emerge into the world.
