What’s Happening at Brudnick Center for Living!

June is shaping up to be a busy month at BCL. We are very excited to resume our outdoor concerts with Jimmy Honohan. They a mainstay of the summer months and residents and staff look forward to the entertaining music. Being able to gather outside and socialize is a terrific way to usher in the start of summer. The first concert is scheduled for June 21 in the BCL Central Courtyard at 2pm.

Zumba classes at starting up again. The classes combine exercise, music and dance in lively spirited sessions. The residents love it!

In honor of Father’s Day, male residents at BCL will receive special gifts. As Ellen Gordon, Director of Resident Life at Chelsea Jewish Lifecare explained, “We enjoy celebrating Father’s Day with all our male residents. Even if they are not fathers, we are sure that someone thinks of them as a second father.”

We are also in the midst of a fun planting project. Our 2nd floor residents are planting pots of flowers that will be a beautiful addition to our patios while our 4th floor residents will be planting pots for the central courtyard. Soon there will be a gorgeous mix of colorful flowers all summer long.

On Friday June 11, a vaccination clinic was held on-site at the Peabody campus. Provided by Mass General Hospital, the clinic was open to staff, residents, and families. Both the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines were administered by the North Shore Physicians Group. The vaccines are free, safe, and effective and were made available to anyone under the age of 18. It’s wonderful that so many individuals on our campus are now vaccinated.
