The Jewish Journal Interviews Resident and Co-Founder of The Leonard Florence Center for Living, Steve Saling

In 2006, Steve Saling was diagnosed with ALS, just a month after his son was born. He soon moved in with his aunt and uncle, but realized the obstacles meant the living arrangement would not work out in the long term. After considering other options, including living with his mother or in a chronic hospital, he decided that he wouldn’t be happy with those options, either. It was not long after his diagnosis when Steve met Barry Berman, CEO of Chelsea Jewish Lifecare during an ALS conference. The two decided to open The Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea, MA in 2010.
