Meet Jill Tura, Katzman Center Administrator in Training

Congratulations are in order for Jill Tura, Katzman Center Administrator in Training. Jill has obtained her Nursing Home Administrator’s License after an intensiveyear-long program.
Having been with CJL for ten years, Jill has a deep appreciation for the organization. She started out as a speech language pathologist, went to KCL (formerly Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home) for three years and then spent most of her time at CJL as Director of Rehabilitation at Leonard Florence Center for Living. Now back at KCL, Jill is adored by residents and staff alike.
Jill holds a Bachelor of Science degree lives in psychology from Syracuse University and a Master of Science degree from Nazareth College of Rochester. Besides being an excellent student, Jill played the flute and piccolo in the marching band. She was even a member of Tau Beta Sigma, a national band service sorority. Jill, husband Chris and their adorable 3 ½ year old daughter Margot, live in Nahant. In her spare time, Jill enjoys baking, hiking, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her responsibilities at KCL, Jill participated in Leading Age’s Leadership Academy along with 17 other individuals from across the industry. She is grateful for the opportunity. ”I was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses as a leader and further developed my professional skills. It was a great platform to discuss ideas and best practices with leaders across our industry,” said Jill.
One of Jill’s favorite things about working at KCL revolves around the staff. “The people who work here are kind and welcoming,” said Jill.’ “When I came back to work here in November of 2019, it was as if I had never left. The staff welcomed me with open arms. It truly felt like coming home.”
On the subject of working amidst the coronavirus, Jill is grateful for the support of the residents, their families and the KCL staff. “I am so impressed by the resiliency of our residents and the support shown by their families,” said Jill. “Moreover, the staff at KCL displayed incredible compassion and dedication to our residents throughout the pandemic. I am proud to have worked alongside all of them during these challenging times.”
Now that Jill has her Nursing Home Administrator’s License, she is looking forward to continuing her role at KCL. As she puts it,“ This really is a wonderful place to work.”
