Look What’s Happening on Our Peabody Campus

It was a special time at Kaplan Estates when resident Neil Cooper and wife Deanna celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary with family and friends at … virtually! With Deanna and Neil surrounded by flowers, balloons and cake, Rabbi Meyer from Temple Emanuel in Marblehead led the festivities with joyous songs and blessings. The Cooper children, close friends of the Coopers and the Cooper’s grandchildren, even the ones who live in Israel, joined via Zoom to celebrate this important milestone.

Our Chinese New Year celebration was a lively affair this year. The residents learned interesting facts about China while celebrating the New Year with traditional food and drinks. There were booklets about the New Year which explained about the 12 Chinese zodiac yearly cycles and the meaning of each zodiac sign. Everyone enjoyed figuring out their sign, so they could determine what their future will hold! To get into the spirit of the holiday, residents savored delicious fortune cookies and gold coins filled with chocolate. Refreshing Mai Tai’s were the drink of the day. Lastly, the residents watched a video featuring the 10 most beautiful places in China. All agreed that the scenery was simply exquisite.

“Big Pot Bingo” was a highlight of the month. The competition heated up as residents concentrated on the exciting games. There was a winner for each individual game, and the winner of the final coverall won “the extra big pot!”
