LFCL Celebrates the Opening of the Stein Family Center for Well-Being

LFCL Resident, Toni Epifani using a new ventilatorOver 100 people attended the Zoom ribbon-cutting on December 3rd for the newly opened Stein Family Center for Well-Being at the Leonard Florence Center for Living (LFCL). Residents, families, staff, friends and community members came together to celebrate Grand Opening of 20 new ventilator rooms. These two specialized homes enable vent-dependent residents to live as independently as possible in a “real” home setting, where they receive exceptional skilled nursing and compassionate care, and are treated with dignity and respect.

It’s important to note that LFCL offers the only Green House® ventilator program in the country. With the new VOCSN multi-function portable ventilators, the first and only ones of their kind on the market today, residents have access to a completely new way of living. These ventilators provide a unified system that makes it easy to switch and customize respiratory therapies, creating a simple system to use and manage. Lightweight and streamlined, the ventilators offer greater mobility, which enhances the quality of life for residents.Stein Family Photo

The Grand Opening honored long-time friends and supporters Bill and Sharon Stein and their family. Bill Stein gave a heartfelt speech, explaining how much the LFCL means to his entire family, and how remarkable it has been remarkable to watch the evolution of our amazing facility. As Bill said, “The LFCL is now the preeminent specialty care facility in the country.”

In addition to the Stein family, special  guest speakers included Marylou Sudders, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Chelsea City Manager Tom Ambrosino, CJL CEO Barry Berman, CJL President Adam Berman and CJL COO Betsy Mullen. Attendees viewed a compelling video about the new homes, featuring a variety of LFCL residents and narrated by Executive Director Mike McCarthy.

These new vent homes reflect a revolutionary way to live life on a ventilator. Once again, Chelsea Jewish Lifecare is in the forefront of cutting-edge technology and, most importantly, has the ability to offer individuals a life-changing experience.
