Giving Thanks at Brudnick Center for Living
Thanksgiving is such a special holiday, and while it will look a little different to all of us this year, there are still many ways to celebrate this meaningful day. For example, during family visits over the next few weeks, staff members will be asking families and residents to write down the things they are grateful for this year. They will then hang their “thankful thoughts” on Thanksgiving trees, which will be displayed in the Brudnick Center lobby.
Another Thanksgiving tradition will be upheld this year. Brudnick Center collaborates with the students at Epstein Hillel School on many holiday celebrations. This year, students will be creating planters for each of the residents and will drop them off at BCL the day before Thanksgiving. These planters, which staff members will deliver to each resident’s room, are guaranteed to bring holiday cheer throughout the holiday season.
Staff and residents were pleased to share their sentiments about what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving. Take a look at what they have to say:
“I give thanks for having a mother who taught me to love life and love people. And I’m thankful I was able to pass this lesson on to my children.”
Lois
Brudnick Center for Living Resident
“I am thankful for my loving family and for the wonderful caring staff.”
Joan

“I am thankful for technology that has made it possible to see distant friends and extended family while unable to visit together.”
Ellen Gordon
