Assisted Living Residents Celebrate “Over 100” Birthday at Kaplan Estates!
A celebration in honor of assisted living residents who have reached the remarkable milestone of turning 100 was held at Kaplan Estates Assisted Living on July 25. Residents include Alice Wallack (100), Jennie Ruggeirio 100, Adrienne Arkun (100), Betty DeAngelis (100), Adrien Arkun (100), Barbara Cantor (100), Karen Stumpf (101), Marie Cassisdy (103), Kay Morocco (104) and Rose Regis (110), who will be 110 in November!
Amidst lively music by Ray Novack and his trio, festive party decorations and delicious birthday cake, residents, staff and family members enjoyed this special occasion. After heartfelt remarks, Peabody Mayor Edward Bettencourt presented each honoree with a birthday citation. There was much laughter, applause and laughter all around.
Kay Morocco, who turns 104 in August, still goes ballroom dancing every week at the Peabody Senior Center wearing high heels. Kay insists on using the stairs at the assisted living instead of taking the elevator so she can “keep fit for ballroom dancing.” Rose Regis, who will turn 110, smiled as she wore her tiara.
Each senior lives independently in their own apartment and participates in the daily recreational and social activities on the campus. They are truly an inspiration to us all.
