What’s Happening at BCL in February
We are excited to report that over 99% of our long term care residents have been vaccinated as well as over 60% of our staff. This is a huge accomplishment and one that will pave the way for our return to normalcy.
Our winter food decorating project for the month of February has brightened the horizon. Residents are keeping safe distances, and do not share materials, but the spirit and enthusiasm they bring to the project are as great as ever. Each individual has their own tin containing skewers of delicious fruits and berries, cups of dipping chocolate, and a variety of toppings. A good time was had by all!
Holiday celebrations are in the works this month. There will be a “Sweet Treats” day for both residents and staff to celebrate “Sweetheart’s Day.” Also, at the end of February, we will hold a costume parade to celebrate Purim. This Jewish holiday celebrates good over evil, bravery over cowardice, and tells the story of how the Jewish people overturned a plot to annihilate them as a people.
As some of you may know, Gianna Babin is no longer working here full time. She is going back to school full time to become a PA. However, she is working on Saturdays from 2-6pm, which is good news for all of families. Gina is a wonderful asset to BCL and we are glad she is still part of the CJL family.
Bella Wheadon, who is now our new full time receptionist, is doing a great job! Please stop by and say hello to her. She is excited to get to know our residents and our families.
