North Suburban Jewish Community Center to Move to Aviv Centers for Living Expanded Campus

Aviv and NSJCC to Partner on Intergenerational Programming
Peabody, MA – November 3, 2011: Officials at Aviv Centers for Living (Aviv) and North Suburban Jewish Community Center (NSJCC) are collaborating to relocate the NSJCC’s early childhood /preschool program and community center to Aviv’s expanded campus at 240 Lynnfield Street in Peabody.  Leaders from Aviv and NSJCC have developed a strategic plan under which the NSJCC will continue to operate its early childhood,  preschool and afterschool programs and the organizations will collaborate on intergenerational  programming bringing  NSJCC students and residents of Aviv together to share activities such as storytelling, reading, art, cooking, music and other enrichment programs.“We are thrilled to have NSJCC part of Aviv’s expansion plan . A 25 year track record of providing quality childcare to thousands of children in the community is the type of experience needed to run a successful childcare program. Combine that with Aviv’s 66 years of delivering excellent senior care and you’ve got the ideal pairing to create intergenerational delight for seniors and children.  Aviv is the Hebrew word for spring and this collaboration represents a new and exciting beginning for both organizations,” said Stephen H. Neff, Aviv President and CEO.“We are so excited to move our early childhood, preschool and after-school programs, together with our community center, to Aviv’s Peabody campus. This new facility will be a central meeting place for people of all generations to come together and experience educational, recreational, cultural, physical and social activities. It truly embodies the Jewish phrase ‘L’Dor Vador’ – ‘from generation to generation,’” said Stacey Comito, President of the NSJCC Board of Directors. “The strategic alliance between Aviv and the North Suburban Jewish Community Center at Aviv’s expansion project in Peabody will strengthen the Jewish community, enhance the NSJCC’s programming for all ages, and bring joy to Aviv’s senior adult residents and guests. It is a triple-play in the truest sense of the expression. Aviv’s and the NSJCC’s leaders are to be applauded for this type of inter-agency collaboration and their strategic response to the Jewish community’s needs, for their foresight, and for their spirit of cooperation,” said community leader Carl Sloane. Scheduled to open September 2012 in time for the start of the school year, the NSJCC will continue to welcome children from two months to five years of age as well as after-school care programming for grades K-5 and expanded community programming for all ages.
