Pictured here is a rendering of the new cafe space that will be in the lobby of the renovated Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home on Lafayette Avenue. The organization recently announced that it will take on a whole new concept with the home and renovate it to the tune of $16 million. The project is expected to get underway this coming spring.
When the founder of Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home (CJNH), Lena Goldberg, started out in 1919, she simply took a multi-family building in Chelsea and made it a welcoming home for aging Jewish immigrants.
