Chelsea Jewish Lifecare Celebrates National Nurses Week!

Each year, the country celebrates National Nurses Week from May 6 through May 12. Given the challenges facing our country and our community, it is more important than ever to honor our nurses for their extraordinary dedication, commitment, and support.

At the Leonard Florence for Living in Chelsea, the Katzman Family Center for Living in Chelsea and the Jeffrey and Susan Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody, the celebration will begin on Wednesday. From the moment the nursing staff walks through the doors, they will find beautiful roses displayed at the entrance of each building. Each nurse can choose a rose –or two. What’s more, Italian food from prominent area restaurants will be delivered for all three meal shifts. What could be better than an array of delicious Italian specialties? For Chelsea Jewish Lifecare, food equals love –and our way of saying thank you for a job very well done.

Throughout the week-long festivities, the staff will, of course, adhere to the social distancing restrictions that are in place. On Friday, an array of home-made cakes will be offered throughout the day, and roses galore delivered again on Saturday. The last day of National Nurses Week is Tuesday, May 12, which is, appropriately, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. As the founder of modern nursing, Nurse Nightingale is credited for revolutionizing the nursing profession. In her honor, as well in honor of all the nurses at our skilled nursing residences, pizzas will be delivered throughout the three shifts.

The integrity and loyalty of our nurses during this difficult time has had a profound impact on our residents and our families. Our gratitude runs deep. Thank you for all that you do. Happy Nurses Week!

Please take a rose as a token of our
appreciation for all our nurses.
We are strong because of you!

May all the care and kindness
you give to others
come back to warm your heart!

Happy Nurses Week!
