Message from Adam Berman, President of Chelsea Jewish Lifecare

Dear Residents, Families, and Friends:

Living through this pandemic has reinforced the importance of companionship and human contact in providing our lives with meaning and happiness.  The restrictions we lived under were necessary to keep us all safe, but came at costs to other elements of our well-being.  For residents of our homes, the limitations on group activities, dining, and visitation provided especially difficult, as these collectively play a large role in fostering human connections during more normal times.

Thankfully, as infection rates drop and vaccination rates rise, we are once again able to focus on the nourishment of the soul as much as the health of the body.  The level of activity on our campuses continues to rise, and as dining, group activities and resident outings have all returned to varying degrees. We once again see people not merely living but flourishing.  Walking through our homes is a completely different experience now than it was at the beginning of this year.  We have come a long way, and expect things to continue to improve as more restrictions are lifted.  Even if we cannot return to exactly the way things used to be, together we will create a “new normal” that allows for the human connections needed for us to find fulfillment.

Warmly,
Adam Berman
