Behind the Scenes on the Peabody Campus

There’s a lot going on in Peabody now that activities are back in full swing. Student and teachers from Better Together program visited the residents, bringing decorative Purim M’Shloach Manot  gift bags of delicious goodies. Since the pandemic we have been holding shabbat services with the students monthly via Zoom but hope to resume in-person programming soon.

New Zumba classes are starting up with Ana at Brudnick. Both 2nd floor and 4th floor residents will now be enjoying energetic music offered at Zumba classes every other week.

Our Activities Staff, spearheaded by Janice Glick, enjoyed preparing for a costume parade win all households. There was a great deal of laughter, creativity and smiles all around.

A festive Purim Carnival on the Dementia Special Care Unit at the Brudnick Center was enjoyed by all! Fran, one of our residents who periodically helps out, showed Caterina how to toss the bean bag to score a point. There were lots of cheers and a wonderful sense of camaraderie among residents and staff.

The award-winning Music & Movement program with Melissa attracted a huge crowd. Residents tapped sticks, banged on drums, and shook their tambourines to the beat of the music. Other activities included a “lucky four leaf clover” craft activity, a multi-sensory spring cookie decorating event and lively bingo sessions. Additionally, our Legacy residents had a great time decoupaging vases with volunteer Deb Eskanazi. Their creations were colorful and artistic.

Recently, residents gathered for game night after dinner. Amidst lively conversation, tasty snacks, and a zest for winning, residents came together to strategize their team’s win. Our residents relish healthy competition!
