Behind the Scenes on Our Peabody Campus
May is a busy time in Peabody this year. In fact, we had many aspiring artists in our watercolor color painting class, made possible by the “Arts of Gold” program. Provider Cindy Bugden visited our 2nd floor memory care, encouraging residents to showcase their natural talents. Residents and staff members participated in a lively discussion on the subject.
Kaplan residents and teen students from Congregation Shirat Hayam in Swampscott enjoyed socializing together, followed by an interactive conversation while viewing immersive art in a surprising 360 degree format. The experience showed us how artists can convey information about life, times and emotion through their artwork. Residents and staff members enjoyed a lively discussion on the subject.
Following our “Around the World with Ron” trip to South America, residents delighted in a party featuring Latin savory plantain strips and sweet galeta con leche e guava treats. There were lots of smiles and animated social conversation. Mexican specialties included tasty dips, churros, margaritas and tequila sunrises. Lastly, a video on the best ten places to visit in Mexico rounded out a day full of fun! This event marked the kickoff of our international summer festivals that will focus on the homelands of the ancestors of our Kaplan Estates residents. Stay tuned — the best is yet to come!
