Behind the Scenes at Leonard Florence Center for Living
Residents and staff are gearing up for the holidays. As always, we will light the 8-foot steel menorah every night during Hanukkah. By the eighth night the effect is very dramatic, with all nine candles lit up against the Chelsea backdrop. The menorah lighting has been a cherished tradition since the Center opened in 2010. Additionally, there will be a dreidel painting class with Sandie C., “Hanukkah Memories” stories with Norma S. & Laura K., two Hanukkah concerts, one with Ray Cavicchi and one with Jimmy Honohan. Clearly, it’s a busy—and wonderful—time of year!
Congratulations are in order for our beloved Activities Director Jimy Anguilar. He and his fiancé Melissa Kwiatkowsk welcomed son Mason Charles Aguilar on November 20. Weighing in at a very healthy 8 lbs. 4.8 ounces, parents and big brother Christian Alexander (age 12) are all doing great. We are thrilled for you Jimy!
A fun time was had by all at the popular Su-Changs Chinese restaurant in early December. Coming up: an outing to the delicious Jimmy’s Steer House in Saugus. It is a favorite among residents and staff members.
Our discussion groups have been very spirited as of late. The “Live, Learn & Pass It On” gathering with Magdalana on December 8 was well-attended and sparked an animated conversation.
