Cheryl Darisse has been named Program Manager at Aviv Centers for Living’s (Aviv) Legacy residence. Legacy is Aviv’s specialized memory unit designed in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia-related diseases.
Darisse began as an Activity Assistant in Aviv’s traditional assisted living residences and moved over to Legacy to launch its Activity Program. Legacy residents enjoy a robust roster of activities including outings, a music program, fitness classes, dance therapy, pottery classes, gardening and entertainment.
Darisse, who has her CNA license, began her career working with seniors at the Herrick House. “I feel like Legacy is my home. I love planing activities with the residents and watching them light up. It fills my heart when I know they feel safe, trusting and special,” says Darisse. She lives in Salem  with her husband and has four grown children and six grandchildren.
