Chelsea Jewish Lifecare, a non-profit organization in the Boston area, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team! The Respiratory Therapist will work in a uniquely specialized unit at our Leonard Florence Center for Living building in Chelsea, MA. Be a part of the first and only Green House Ventilator Program in the Country! The award-winning Leonard Florence Center for Living Green House, is a revolutionary, state-of-the-art skilled nursing residence. The Center features a home-like environment with every modern convenience. Since it's opening in 2010, the Center has been recognized throughout the world as an innovative model of care for seniors. And now, in 2020, we have been chosen to implement a new vent unit expansion! The unit will be equipped with State of the Art Technology from the Vent Unit, to the resident having the ability to operate all aspects of their environment remotely. The candidate will be provided a structured education plan to assist in their growth and development on Vent Care. Continuing Education will be ongoing and at the forefront of this Vent House Expansion.
Position Summary: This purpose of this position is to administer the standardized types of respiratory therapy including oxygen, therapeutic and medicinal gases, mist-inhalation and aerosolized drugs to hospitalized patients.
Provide kind and compassionate care to our residents.Observe residents: chart and report changes in residents' conditions, such as response to medication or treatmentReads physician's orders to determine requirements for treatmentDelivers prescribed procedure and/or treatment to the patientNotifies nursing department or physician of adverse reactions to treatment and documents reaction in patient's chartPrepares and maintains patient chart per departmental policy.Inspects and tests all equipment prior to use
Current and valid Massachusetts licensure in RRTMust possess strong clinical assessment skillsMust possess strong computer skillsMaintains valid CPR certification; BLS, ACLSMaintains educational competency as required by state and federal regulationsAbility to adjust to new or changing situations and stresses
Full-Time, M-F and Every-Other-Weekend2 Holidays required per year (1 – Spring, 1-Winter)7am-7pm (days) -or- 7pm-7am (overnight)Some part-time and per-diem shifts available as well
